51 A Darlington shed closed March 1966

Hello and welcome to this site. This site attempts to create an online album of transport related photographs. Not only using my own collection of photographic images but also those images held by the Armstrong Railway Photographic Trust.

My own photographic images have been taken using a Canon 500N for photographs taken on film and more recently a Canon EOS 300D for digital photographs. The images taken by the Armstrong Trust photoraphers have been taken on a variety of mediums and with a array of different cameras. Of which you see a small section on this site.

The Armstrong Trust collection now contains in excess of 150,000 images, held on glass or film. For some time to come the collections held are being sorted and catalogued.

Watch out for the Armstrong Railway Photographic Trust soon to be lauched website, with more information relating to the trust and it work in saving images for posterity. The trust members do also give presentations using the contents of the collections available to us.

30th August 2010 and the start of summer. This Bank Holiday Monday brought an added bonus to the North East in the form of 55022, working a Crewe to Durham rail tour. As a add on mini tour the Deltic worked from Durham to Newcastle via Darlington and Stockton, seen here passing through Teesside Airport station.

8	Another shot of the officers special at Thornaby, this time in colour. It is ironic that a diesel should be used to haul the special for the opening of a new steam shed, as D5510 only entered service itself on the 16th of May.
